What's in our baskets? We grow a great variety of fruits and vegetables using sustainable farming methods. What ultimately goes into each basket depends, of course, upon the weather and the harvest. Here is a partial list of what we will be planting: beets, tomatoes (cherry and slicer), salad mixes & numerous types of lettuce, Japanese salad turnips, kale, chard, winter squash, spinach, cabbage, onions, garlic, basil, carrots, cilantro, cucumbers, summer squash, potatoes, radishes, cantaloupe, watermelon, arugula. We send out a weekly newsletter detailing what you’ll find in the baskets, along with some yummy recipe suggestions.
-
When and where do I pickup my basket? We have two pickup options, one at the Richmond Sharing Farm and the other in East Vancouver. For Richmond: Pick up is at The Sharing Farm, 2771 Westminster Hwy, every Thursday from 4:00pm – 7:00pm. If you are going out of town, or are otherwise unable some weeks to pick up your harvest box, we allow friends or family members to pick up. For East Van: We will be continuing to have a pick up spot on Thursday evenings, 6-8pm, at 2928 East Georgia St. If you wish to register for East Van pick up, please fill in the form as usual and indicate “East Van Pick Up” in the “Additional Comments or Instructions” box. Any basket that is not picked up will be donated to the Richmond Food Bank.
-
How much produce is included in a weekly basket?Weekly baskets contain $37 worth of sustainably grown produce. A sample box from early July: onions, head of lettuce, bunch of cilantro, zucchinis, mustard salad blend, radishes, turnips, beets, carrots. A sample box from mid-August: shallots, salad mix, cantaloupe, watermelon, carrots, new potatoes, basil, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, slicer tomatoes. Shares may be split with a friend, either splitting the box each week, or alternating pick up weeks. (If you want to share a basket but can’t find someone to share with you, email us at: info@sharingfarm.ca and we may be able to pair you with someone.)

What does a harvest basket look like? Each week, produce options vary depending on availability and seasonality. Here are examples of some of our baskets.
