It’s that time of year again! Time to preserve all of the summers fresh produce to enjoy during the rainy winter months. Last year Good Girl Bad Girl Preserves hosted workshops in the Woodwards building in gastown in the W2 Media Cafe. This years workshops will be held at the amazing Sharing Farm.
We believe that learning about how food is grown, where it is from and how to make it isn’t just fun and delicious, but essential in our current economy. So we thought why not learn and have fun while you do it! Our workshops are hands on, quirky and informative!
This week’s workshop, for the hight of the tomato season, you will be learning how to make fermented salsas. Fermenting is a traditional way to preserve foods without refrigeration. It also has the added benefit of culturing healthy probiotic bacteria that are great for your gut! When you ferment good foods, you improve their nutrient quality and probiotic content. They improve digestion, cleanse the body, and help nourish your gut lining.
Workshop attendees get a hands on learning experience as well as recipes and a jar of what you make to take and try at home.
