The Garden Apprenticeship Program (GAP) is designed for youth, 14-18 years old, who have immigrated to Canada  in the last 5 years. The GAP runs from June 2nd through October 27th on Saturdays between 10am-2pm. This is a free program, funded by a grant from the Vancouver Foundation

The program is a great way for youth to take part in organic gardening, volunteerism, and practicing English. Students in the program will learn about the food cycle, improve their mental health by spending time outdoors, and will make new friends.

The program includes field trips to other local farms and botanical gardens in lower mainland and there are opportunities for student-organized community engagement projects.

Enrollment is limited to 12 students. Students will need to bring their own lunch and rubber boots are recommended. The Sharing Farm is a working farm as such students will be exposed to bees, fresh air, and lots of soil.
