Are you 55+? Are you interested in volunteering with the Sharing Farm, but don’t have a way of getting here?

We still have spots on our shuttle bus, starting on Tuesday, 16th May and going on every week throughout the season. The bus departs at 9.30am from outside the Richmond Central Library (7700 Minoru Gate #100) and drops you back at the Library at 1.15pm.

The program is absolutely FREE thanks to funding from United Way of the Lower Mainland.

What will you be doing at the Farm?

We are an organic farm using mostly hand tools, which means there is no shortage of things to be done! Tasks may including  seeding, transplanting, harvesting, weeding, and watering.   This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community by helping The Sharing Farm grow organic vegetables for the food bank. We try to keep the tasks light, and some of the beds in the greenhouse are raised to knee height, but ability to bend and kneel regularly would be ideal.

It’s not all hard work though! At 12 pm we down tools and have a healthy snack, a coffee and a chat with the other volunteers.
