On behalf of the Board of Directors of The Sharing Farm Society and our dedicated staff, it is my privilege to thank you–our members, volunteers, donors, sponsors and supporters for helping The Sharing Farm grow and deliver healthy food for our neighbours in need. I particularly want to acknowledge the tremendous support from the City of Richmond for the work we do; their backing makes this organization possible.

As the new Executive Director I’m excited to be joining The Sharing Farm and I feel very lucky to be able to participate in the great work that goes on here. I have been leading non-pro ts for several years, most notably the Whistler Museum, so I am familiar in the role of the ED. However, I am new to the farming world, and am therefore undertaking a new adventure. Fortunately, our farm staff is expert at what they do, so I am in capable hands!

I would like to thank James Gates, my predecessor, for the amazing things he achieved in his four years at The Sharing Farm. From expanding our land base, raising funds for two new greenhouses, creating multiple programs and of course the construction of the spectacular Mary’s Barn, James has left me some big shoes to ll. I will do my best to continue building on the great work that he’s done. Thank you, James. We all miss you!

Within this report you will read about the important projects and fun filled events from 2016, more about the organizations we collaborated with to bring some innovative impactful ideas to fruition, the generous funders and donors that saw value in our work, and about how we raised and spent the funds to fulfil our mission.
