1. Volunteering Opportunities
There are many opportunities for volunteers of all ages to help at the Sharing Farm. We’re still in planting mode so we’d love some help making beds, moving manure, and planting seed.
Hours at the Sharing Farm are: Tues – Sat 9:00 am- 3:00 pm
We would also love some help at the Apple Orchard to mulch the trees, weed around them, and sometimes spray organic sprays for disease & pest prevention. Volunteer times are great for people who work or for families to participate together:
Hours at the Apple Orchard are Thursdays 5:30 pm- 8:00 pm

2. Basic Carpentry for Women Class
If you’ve ever wanted to learn some basic tools and carpentry skills, do home fix-it projects yourself, or if you have a project idea but aren’t sure how to build it… then this workshop is for you! Learn basic carpentry skills and practice using hand and power tools in a safe and supportive women-only environment.
Tools may include: circular saw, plane, sander, power drill, reciprocating saw, chisels, hammer, understanding the uses of various nails and screws, and more! No experience necessary. We will work on a project for the Sharing Farm – specifics to be determined. This workshop will be repeated on July 23rd, and that one will be open to men as well as women. 3. Community Potluck July 1 – cancelled.
Due to the holiday weekend, we are canceling the community potluck. We hope to reschedule a lunch-time potluck for later in the month. Stay tuned for details.
4. Fermenting Foods Class with Chef Ian Lai
Learn how to make sauerkraut, kimchee, miso and tempeh during this workshop. You will be amazed at how flavourful, healthy and nutritious these products are. Food samples provided. The cost is $20

5. Garlic Festival
Join us on August 14th from 10am to 2pm for a Garlic Extravaganza! We will have fresh garlic for sale as well as garlic preserves, garlic ice-cream, garlic face painting and more. This is a great family event so mark your calendar.
