This week at the Sharing Farm… please join us!

Weekly Thursday Orchard Work Party
in the Orchard at Gilbert & Dyke Rd.
(see more details below)

Compost Tea Workshop
Saturday June 11
10am – noon
at the Red Barn, Terra Nova Rural Park,
2631 Westminster Hwy at the west dyke, Richmond

Using compost tea is a great and easy way to increase soil fertility, plant health, and resistance to pests & diseases – a great skill for backyard gardeners and farmers alike!

Tim Wilson and Bruno Vernier will facilitate this workshop and bring a compost tea kit to demonstrate and donate to the Sharing Farm!

From Bruno, workshop facilitator:
Tim Wilson is the canadian equivalent of Elaine Ingham, the scientist who launched this whole active compost tea movement that is the talk of alternative dark-green agriculture these days :-)
Tim will be bringing a microscope so everyone can view the amazing micro-organisms that are present in healthy soils, or in bio-remediated soils that have been healed with compost tea.

For registration info, contact Bruno Vernier at

Orchard Work Party Details:

We are grateful to the small but steady flow of volunteers who have been helping our orchard on Thursday evenings, and we’d love more people to come help out!
The orchard needs a lot of hands to help get our spring work done – weeding, fertilizing, mulching, blossom thinning, and monitoring of caterpillars.

Come for as little or long as you can…invite your friends…or meet new ones!
