1. Steveston Farmers & Artisans Market – Sunday, May 22nd
 
The summer market season has finally started and the Sharing Farm is excited to be participating again this year. Sales at the market help support the work we do and also allow our Kwantlen Farm School students the experience of marketing through a farmers market. Please come by and say hi!
 
We would also love a hand for a couple of hours, especially at set up and take down. If you (& a friend?) could spare some time, set up is from 10am-12pm and take down is from 4pm-5:30 pm. Please e-mail arzeenahamir@shaw.ca if you can make it.
 
2. There are a couple of food events during Asian Heritage Month that we thought our members would really enjoy.
 
Asian Food Choices & Local Food Systems

Join local artist Bard Suen, Shark Truth founder Claudia Li, and Rangi Changi Director Kevin Washbrook for a panel discussion that is sure to raise some controversial issues. With the emphasis on local diets and strengthening regional food systems, what role does the Asian diet play in the 21st Century?
 

Healthy Asian Cooking with Chef Ian Lai

Our very own Chef Ian Lai will demonstrate fresh and tasty Asian dishes with a local twist. Choose from one of two sessions. Please e-mail coordinator@richmondfoodsecurity.org to reserve a seat.
 
 
Also, don’t forget that the Sharing Farm is in full swing and we’d love to see you. Our staff are at the farm from 9am-3pm, Tuesday-Saturday. Come on by!
