It was a busy summer and Fall for the Terra Nova Sharing Farm and our Orchard, despite some challenges produced by such a cold wet Spring and then a rainy September when the squashes tried to float away.

Highlights in the last five months include the following:

  • Successful first ever CSA program
  • Continued weekly, bountiful harvests from the fields and greenhouses
  • Construction of a Cobb Oven
  • Donation of a much needed cooler
  • Help from the Richmond Farm School students in doing special projects on the farm, in the orchard, and participating in the Steveston Farmer’s Market
  • Significant increase of a diverse grouping of programs and workshops with a focus on youth
  • Welcoming the many community and corporate groups who came out in droves to help at the Sharing Farm
